While preparing for the official launch of its BlackBerry 10 platform and of devices running under it, Research In Motion has made available updated developer tools for those interested in building apps for the OS.
App developers can choose from a variety of runtime technologies to deploy BB10 apps, including Native C/C++, Qt, HTML5, Adobe AIR and Android Java.
In the new update, the reliability of the code has been greatly improved, while the efficiency and convenience of building using the BlackBerry 10 development tools have been increased.
The BlackBerry 10 simulator and BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha were updated in the new release, RIM notes, adding that BBM-enabled apps can now be designed, and that Microsoft Visual Studio tools can be used for the porting of games to BlackBerry 10 devices.
